Baldur's Gate III launch on Xbox has been fraught with challenges. Initially, the release was postponed for a few months due to difficulties the developers encountered with the Xbox Series S. When the game was eventually launched last month; it was marred by a critical glitch that resulted in lost save files for some players—a particularly distressing issue for a game with potential playtimes exceeding 100 hours. The developers and Microsoft have been diligently investigating the issue and, thankfully, have identified the cause. Larian Studios announced that players could apply a manual update on January 16th or wait until the following week for the global rollout of the patch.
With this resolution, Xbox players and those on other platforms now have every reason to experience what has been touted as the game of the year for 2023.
